Residential Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Substance abuse and substance dependence are classified as diseases by the American Medical Association (AMA). Substance use disorders (SUD’) are complex in nature due to the interaction between the biological, psychological and social components that underlay a person’s disease. Left untreated, SUD’s progress with devastating physical, emotional, and social consequences. But, as with any disease, people with substance use disorder’s significantly benefit from treatment.

The underlying causes of a person’s SUD are unique. RTI’s programming is designed to address the complex biological, psychological and social factors that comprise each individual client’s disease. Treatment begins with a comprehensive biopsychosocial alcohol and drug assessment. Based on the client’s assessment, the client and their counselor develop an individualized treatment plan designed to address the client’s identified needs. After this initial individual session, the client will meet with their counselor once per week for the duration of their treatment.


Right Turn Impact (RTI) provides CARF accredited, MD state approved level 2.5 PHP, 2.1 IOP and 1.0 OP treatment to people suffering from SUD’s. RTI’s structured programming is supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. RTI’s program consists of daily groups including psychotherapeutic, psychoeducation, holistic, and relapse prevention groups. Groups are led by licensed counselors under the guidance and supervision of the clinical director. Additionally, clients participate in daily sober support groups and several recreation groups throughout the week.

Transition planning is a vital component of SUD treatment. A significant component of every client’s treatment is directed towards helping them plan for their aftercare. Depending on the client’s needs, they are provided resources for sober support groups, therapists, psychiatric care, sober living and out-patient treatment options. Every client is provided with recommendations, referrals, support and assistance as needed to create a transition plan to support their recovery.

The earlier signs and symptoms are detected and the more aggressively treated, the better the odds for a successful outcome. Early intervention programs reduce recidivism rates, improve public safety and help save lives.
